Extension Privacy

1. Overview

This policy covers all OKSLOP browser extensions, including "OKSLOP New Tab" for Chrome. Our extensions are designed to enhance your browsing experience with AI-generated photography while respecting your privacy.

2. Data We Collect

Local storage only

The extension stores your preferences (such as animation settings) locally in your browser using Chrome's storage.local API. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to our servers.

No browsing history

We do not track, collect, or transmit your browsing history, search queries, or any activity outside the extension's new tab page.

3. Network Requests

The extension connects only to OKSLOP domains:

okslop.com — to fetch random photos and photo metadata
images.okslop.com — to load photo images

Optional features using cookies

If you use features that interact with your OKSLOP account (saving photos to your collection, reporting images), the extension sends requests to okslop.com with credentials: include. This allows the extension to use your existing OKSLOP session cookies for authentication. These features are entirely optional — the extension works fully without signing in.

4. Permissions Explained

storage

Used to save your extension preferences (animation on/off, etc.) locally in your browser. This data is not synced or transmitted.

downloads

Used when you click the download button to save the current photo to your computer. The extension downloads images directly from images.okslop.com to your Downloads folder.

Host permissions (okslop.com, images.okslop.com)

Required to fetch photos and metadata from our API. We do not request access to any other websites.

5. What We Don't Do

We do not collect or transmit your browsing history
We do not track you across websites
We do not inject content into other web pages
We do not run background scripts or processes
We do not access your bookmarks, passwords, or other browser data
We do not sell any data to third parties
We do not serve advertising

6. Third-Party Services

The extension does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. All network requests go exclusively to OKSLOP servers.

7. Data Retention

Local preferences are stored until you uninstall the extension or clear your browser data. If you use the save or report features while signed in, that activity is stored on OKSLOP servers as described in our main Privacy Policy.

8. Updates

We may update this policy as we add features. Material changes will be noted in the extension's changelog and on this page.
